Where does the time go?!

Hi everyone,

Same old, same old - how rubbish of me not to keep up with my blog, but seriously where does the time go?! I have all these good intentions but they never seem to happen! Anyway, it's the first of August so being a Yorkshire lass - Happy Yorkshire Day! Never heard of it - neither had I until this morning when Chris Moyles mentioned it on his show! I've just checked on Wikipedia so here's a bit of history, now go and educate yourself!!

Yorkshire Day is celebrated on 1 August to promote the historic English county of Yorkshire. It was celebrated in 1975, by the Yorkshire Ridings Society, initially in Beverley, as "protest movement against the Local Government re-organisation of 1974", The date alludes to the Battle of Minden, and also the anniversary of the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire in 1834, for which a Yorkshire MP, William Wilberforce, had campaigned.[1][2]

Right, now you've learnt something new! Maybe not, but anyway!
Just been checking out the new jewellery trends for Autumn/Winter this morning, seeing what we should be buying for the upcoming seasons, bit of a mixed bag really.

It's been a while!

Hi everyone!

Well, it's been a bit of a hectic month here at Palenque HQ. Loads has been going on, hence the fact that we've been quiet on the Blog front!

What is there to fill you in on then? Well, we've just put in our lovely new windows for the Summer months. They're very bright and refreshing!

The girls in the shops have taken great delight in cutting out all the gerberas to stick in their windows and add to their shelves! ;) What a lovely task for them - but the end result was worth it!!

Here are our lovely Cambridge girls applying the finishing touches to their displays......
And here they're tackling the beautiful window stickers!

Fancy making your own window stickers? I found this great stuff on a website called Crafty Computer Paper, http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/.Window-Cling-NEW_WIND-CLINGA4PK5.htm You simply print out the image that you would like to make into a sticker onto a sheet of normal white paper, you then apply a sheet of their special window cling, which is sticky on both sides. Apply one side to the print out, this can be a little tricky sometimes, avoid air bubbles at all costs! Then the other side you peel off and you can stick the whole thing to your window! Easy peasy!

We've had some lovely new stock arriving to compliment our lovely windows, check out our website for the latest designs, I've just been adding them on this week! http://www.palenque.co.uk/

We've also just had a delivery of new Skagen watches - they'll be coming to a branch near you very soon!!

Right, I'd best get on with some more work I suppose. Our lovely Chester girls are preparing to host a Palenque Jewellery Party next week and we need to get organised!! It's the first time we've done this so we're trying to be prepared as possible. But how fabulous will that be? Trying on a bit of jewellery whilst sipping a nice glass of wine and eating a few nibbles! It's not a bad way to pass the time is it?!!

Bye for now everyone, I'll try and catch up with you a bit sooner next time!

Hello World!

Hello everyone! This is Palenque's first post on our new and exciting blog! Hopefully you will find us quite an interesting bunch! Our head office is based in the wonderful city of York. We have a lovely shop downstairs full of beautiful silver jewellery designs! We also have shops in Chester, Cambridge and two in Edinburgh where we first started out quite some time ago!

This is our York shop on Low Petergate, we're a stones throw from York Minster. In fact I can see it from my office window! It's a quirky little shop with some wonderful features, and our head office is much the same, lots of uneven floors and spiralling staircases!

You can find out a bit more about what we do at our website, why not pay a little visit to www.palenque.co.uk and you can see what we're about!
